Cramlington Learning Village Northumberland

In Cramlington Learning Village we care about our environment, our community and our school. Our group is made up of a range of different ages of year seven, eight and nine. We took this challenge because we want to promote healthy living and spread the word around the community. Recently we have required a new, state-of-the-art, building for our year seven and eights. Now that we have these great facilities, we feel we have the right resources to succeed in this challenge.

We just had a meeting with Sam from Step Up. Here's a pic of us eating our lunches while we watch a film made by another Step Up team, and wait for everyone else to arrive.

We want to work with primary school pupils who will be coming to Cramlington Learning Village in September.

Here are some of our ideas so far:

  • basketball coaching sessions
  • games for primary pupils to play on the way to school
  • a dance performance, which encourages them to walk

Today Kate, Amy, Jennifer, Sam, David, Leah, Shannon and Hannah turned up to the meeting, we all met this Tuesday lunch time. First of all we discussed our aims, we came up with encouraging school children to be healthier and walk to and from school, as the current year 6’s are in the primary school and this September they will be starting at our school. Therefore we hope we can get these children to walk to the Cramlington Learning Village . To meet these aims we are going to do the following – organise a treasure hunt, teach a dance, play a game of basketball and a bit of arts and crafts! Finally we have agreed that the following week we should split the groups off into our four groups and discuss our own ideas!
