                    ...here's the winner!

Our competition to give young people a chance to make suggestions about what they would change about their streets is now closed.

784 young people from all over England sent in suggestions. We were fantastically impressed by your excellent ideas.

But there could be only one winner (chosen at random) and here she is!

Alex is a member of Year 9 at Carmel RC College in Darlington. Her idea was: 'Paint the streets pink!'

Alex was presented with her prize by a member of the Carmel College Step Up Group.

Mrs Walker, coordinator of the college's Step Up group, commented , 'We are delighted the winner of this national competion has come from our College'

Although this competition is now closed, you can still win goodies for yourself, or for your school, by taking part in 'Free Your Feet', our walking challenge,  or by making a film for the Step Up video project.
