Step Up: What's in it for me?

Being a teenager is stressful - schoolwork, exams, relationships, parents, teachers - sometimes it feels like everyone is on your case!

It's also a time when you don't want to be relying on "mum's taxi" so much - you've got places to go, people to see, a life to lead - and mum's insistence to give you a kiss goodbye at the school gate is not doing your cred any good!

May be it's time to Step Up. Walking may not feel like the most glamorous way to travel, but it can be a great way of getting some time to yourself - away from the stresses of school and home, chilling to the tunes on your pod and day-dreaming about the hottie in the year above.

Walking is also great with your friends - catch up on the gossip, chat about stuff - you know just spend some "mate time".

What's this website for?

This website is all about asking you to walk a bit more. Not everyone can walk all the way to school, but perhaps you could ditch the car or bus for the last 15 minutes. No embarrassing parents at the school gate and time to chill by yourself or chat with your mates - RESULT!

If you live less than a couple of kilometres from school, chances are you already walk there. That's cool - thank you. We're sure that your walk could be nicer though - maybe the path is covered in dog mess, or there's nowhere to store your bags once you get to school. This website is also about what you can do to improve your walking space.
